You're...At Home At
|
Why should adults get all the information?!
You're moving too and you are the one who will be in school all day.
So, just for you, here are some fun reasons why you will think our school
is the greatest!
Lapham-Marquette has a publishing center. You can bring stories that you create in class to the center and the volunteers there will turn your work into a book that can be checked out of the Library Media Center.
We have our own post office at Lapham so you can send
mail to your friends at school.
Every year just before winter break Lapham holds a Holiday Feast for all of our families. The menu includes turkey, potatoes, vegetables, dessert and all the trimmings. The meal is served by local celebrities which makes it a true community event. Our school celebrates at least four major holidays during the month of December.
Our second graders have the chance to be in our choir and drama programs. Each of the programs puts on a performance once each semester. These are open to any second grader who wants to participate.
We also have a chess club that meets once a week and an art club that helps the music and drama programs by creating the needed sets and props. You can also participate in our running and jump rope clubs over your lunch hours.
Lapham ends the year with several activities. Field Day has different activities that allow for friendly competition. All of our students participate and we are joined by many parents and friends.
We also honor our second graders by hosting a tea. You
and parents gather together and look back on your time at Lapham. We have
many, many pictures of our students taken during their time here.
Refreshments are served and goodbyes exchanged.
Families gather to listen to and celebrate children's poetry.
A major event at Lapham. We always have a standing room only crowd. Each classroom will sing a special song and then the Superintendent will present each graduate with a diploma. If you have never been to our graduation you should try to attend.
Students are given experiences on an urban adventure, caving, camping and a ropes course.
Students participate in learning jump rope skills and perform at schools in southern Wisconsin.
Each November, Marquette Elementary School has a book fair.
You and your parents interact with computers.
Staff and families gather at school for a picnic and recreation activities.
You and the your family meet to set learning goals for the school year.
Remember, you're "At Home At Lapham-Marquette Elementary School!"
