You're...At Home At
|
Why should adults get all the information?!
You're moving too and you are the one who will be in school all day.
So, just for you, here are some fun reasons why you will think our school
is the greatest!
All Lowell families are invited to Darbo Park for ice cream and fun. You can climb a wall, get your face painted and meet your teacher.
This program is designed to help 1st graders read lots
of books at home. Kids take turns bringing home one of the 38 packs
available for a full week. The red backpacks are filled with books, tapes,
recorders, and other things to help make reading fun.
Three times each year you get to pick a free book to take home.
Lowell School has a very active student council which plans service projects and other fun activities.
Pizza is available as part of the school hot lunch program.
Theh 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant funds academic and recreational clubs. Club meetings last 45 minutes and run from fall through early spring in 6 week sessions.
More than 50 students at Lowell have the chance to work with volunteers from area businesses and agencies each year. Many of these students continue to work with their mentor when they go to middle school.
There are 60 kids in our program which includes field trips each week, arts and crafts, tutoring groups and daily snacks all year long, including during the summer.
Students, staff, and parents participate in our fall and spring exercise activities. We take advantage of Olbrich Park and every activity is about having fun - including the refreshments!
Our students have an opportunity to shine once a year on stage in front of their friends, families and community.
On the same night as the Talent Show, you can enjoy math games and contests in the gym with your family.
Lowell School offers a strings programs for students in
grades 4 and 5. The classes are small and the staff and parents are great.
Twice each year we hold concerts so that everyone gets to hear us.
Lowell has several book fairs each year so you'll have lots of chances to buy books to read at home.
Conferences are offered at the beginning of each school year to introduce your teacher to your family and to let you be part of setting goals for the school year.
There are many social events at Lowell, but this is a very special opportunity for you and your parents and teachers to share good books together. After reading and storytelling, we head to the cafeteria for an ice cream sundae.
The carnival is one of the spring favorites at Lowell, thanks to our wonderful Home and School Association (LHSA) volunteers.
Remember, you're "At Home At Lowell Elementary School!"
