You're...At Home At
|
Why should adults get all the information?!
You're moving too and you are the one who will be in school all day.
So, just for you, here are some fun reasons why you will think our school
is the greatest!
Pizza is available every month for lunch.
Glenn Stephens students are leaders! You can be a leader by being part
of Student Council or the Community Circle Planning Team or the Welcome
Wagon. We also have Lunchroom Helpers, LMC Helpers and Gym Helpers at
out school.
Each classroom has at least two computers for you to use (in addition to the time you spend in the computer lab). Additional computers are available in the library. The school has a classroom set of Alpha Pro keyboards that are used for learning keyboarding.
Sponsored by the PTO, each classroom creates a fair booth for a Saturday filled with games, prizes, food, and fun.
Field trips give you a chance to take learning outside your school environment.
You can find yourself sledding at Garner Park and bowling at a local bowling center.
As a fifth grade student, you can volunteer to serve the students of the school by assisting with the after school Safety Patrol Program.
Students have the opportunity to participate in the Spring Talent Show, either on the stage or as part of the production crew. This annual event has become a school highlight. Performances include singing, dancing, comedy, musicians, and magic. Start planning your act now!
Have you always wanted to learn how to play chess? The recorder? Have you ever wanted to learn to speak French, Spanish, German or Italian? After school clubs allow you to explore activities that are not part of the school day. Kids of all ages participate so it's a great way to meet new friends.
Families and students can buy books at the Book Fair. Books can also be purchased and donated to the school library.
If you are a fourth or fifth grader, you have a chance to participate
in our Strings program. You'll learn lots of songs and will give a
few concerts, too!
This is a great way to share and recycle books that you have at home but don't read anymore. Kids bring in books and then each class gets to visit the Book Share to pick out "new" books to take home.
Interested students compete in spelling bees, geography bees, Math Olympiad, a chess tournament and Destination Imagination.
Bring your family members in to see your work and your classroom.
Remember, you're "At Home At Glenn Stephens Elementary School!"
