Why should adults get all the information?!
You're moving too and you are the one who will be in school all day.
So, just for you, here are some fun reasons why you will think our school
is the greatest!
We have some great teachers here that love kids. Our staff helps make Black Hawk a great place where every student should be free of any harassment. Learning is a hard job but it can also be fun. We know that kids love hands-on activities, field trips, enrichment projects, camping trips, adventures out in the community. All this and more awaits you at Black Hawk.
You need to know that Black Hawk Middle School has a high
extra-curricular participation rate. The opportunities
are limitless. For example, we have horseback riding, basketball, soccer,
and ultimate frisbee. We also have many cool clubs like fishing, French,
computer, chess, euchre, magic and cards. There are so many more!
Really get involved! If you have great ideas to help make Black Hawk Middle the best place for our students, then join our Student Council. It's a perfect way for you to meet others and get involved with planning activities like dances and special theme days.
Imagine over 50 students and many staff members sharing their talents on stage with professional lighting, great sound systems, and a multimedia twist. This is a highlight event for all students, parents, and staff. It's a fun time for all of us and for you too!
The teachers know that kids come first and that you are the most important person to them. They put lots of time and energy into letting students know that they care about you and they keep their classes challenging but fun.
Every quarter we reward students for just being a great kid. You don't necessarily have to have the best grades. This program is called the EDGE where each teacher nominates a student who best demonstrates our motto of: Excellence Dignity Giving Effort.
Each month we feature a student who does well academically. You must have near perfect attendance, positive classroom behavior, above average grades and show respect and empathy towards others. If nominated you will receive a framed certificate, your portrait will be on display and your name will be permanently engraved on a plaque with all other previous Students of the Month. So come to Black Hawk and be a winner!
Black Hawk believes that education does not take place just in the classroom! We believe students also learn from cool performers sharing their talents and knowledge in creative ways. Dances are a must! Even the staff join in. Enjoy a piece of pizza while you're at it!
All in all--this is no lie--students have so much fun here that they don't want to go home some days. Black Hawk is the place! It is harassment free, and when you enter our school you can't help but feel the warmth of our colorful walls, and caring teachers, our great principal and witness the "awesomeness" of our great students. Join your home away from home . . . Black Hawk Middle is the place for you!
