You're moving too and you are the one who will be in school all day.
So, just for you, here are some fun reasons why you will think our school is the greatest!

Food Kids Actually Like

Some of the main munchies are pizza (including slices from Pizza Hut), sub sandwiches, enchiladas, hot dogs, french fries, cookie dough (with M&M's!), bagels, hamburgers, and lots more. Vegetarian? No problem. Wright offers a variety of choices, including salads, vegetables, fruits, and main dishes.

After School Clubs and Academic Support

There's good news and bad news about the after school offerings at Wright. The good news is there are many choices; the bad news is that students have a tough time deciding what to do! The club choices include art, flag football, drill team, skiing, knitting, harseback riding, cooking, and many more. Plus, if you have an idea for a club, just tell Mr. Kingcade (the after school club coordinator), and he'll look for an advisor. The best part about trying to decide, however, is that there's time for both academics and clubs. The hour right after school, from 3 - 4p.m., is for MYCAP, the homework club; club activities start at 4:00. With late buses, you can participate in both!

Cool, Caring Staff

Wright teachers are a very dedicated and fun bunch. They work hard to make learning exciting. Wright teachers put in lots of extra time planning educational and fun field trips like Milwaukee and Madison cultural performances and the UW Medical School.. Got a problem? The middle school years can be tough, but Wright has a school counselor, social worker, nurse, and psychologist who are available to help students sort things out.

A Place Where Everybody Knows Your Name

Students at Wright can expect to get to know their classmates and teachers well because Wright is a small school with small class sizes. Students at Wright work in classes of no more than 20 students, and Wright has a maximum capacity of 240 students.

In The Mix

Wright looks like the real world. Wright has a diverse student body that includes African-American, Caucasian, Asian (Hmong, Chinese, Thai), Hispanic, and Native American students. This cultural mix makes Wright a rich, rewarding place to be.

Focus On The Future

Admit it -- you're already thinking (maybe even worrying) about high school. Wright will prepare you to meet the challenges of high school. Small class sizes allow students to receive extra help. The curriculum helps students make meaningful connections between subjects. Hands-on projects, technology, and state-of-the art resources give students the tools necessary for success.

Beautiful Building

Wright, which opened in the fall of 1997, is the newest middle school in the District. Wright's unique features include modern science labs, a stunning LMC with a wall of windows facing the UW Arboretum, curved walls, huge gymnasium, sunny art room with lockers and kiln, and spacious classrooms.
