- Financial Transactions:
- It is recommended that the Board approve the Memorandum of Understanding with Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin (GHC-SCW) in which GHC-SCW will reimburse the District $18,000.00 toward the cost of a pediatric nurse practitioner to, among other things, provide outreach and coordinate periodic “HealthCheck” clinics to provide preventive health care for school age children meeting GHC-SCW's Medical Assistance eligibility during the 2008-2009 school year.
- It is recommended that the Board approve the Memorandum of Understanding with Dean Health Plan (DHP) in which DHP will reimburse the District $16,750.00 toward the cost of a nurse practitioner and nurse assistant to provide outreach and coordinate periodic Health Check Clinics and Teen Clinics to provide preventive health care for school age children meeting DHP Medicaid or BadgerCare eligibility during the 2008-2009 school year.
- It is recommended that the Board approve the request for proposal from Clifton, Gunderson, LLP for audit services for fiscal years 2007-08, 2008-09, and 2009-10 at a total cost of $162,150, with additional possible costs for Membership or ITP Audits, with funding from the general operating budgets in each subsequent fiscal year. Attached is a copy of the analysis of the workforce of Clifton Gunderson LLP. Clifton Gunderson LLP has been recommended on the May 12, 2008, Special School Board Meeting Agenda as the company to be awarded the Professional Audit Services Contract Companies that are required to comply with Board Policy 6600, which is the Contract Compliance Policy, must indicate: 1) with what agency its Affirmative Action Plan is on file, 2) whether or not the plan is certified, and 3) whether the employment goal(s) stated in the plan has/have been achieved, or has signed Appendix C (the District’s Affirmative Action & Equal Employment Opportunity Policy Statement) which states that the vendor has agreed to make a good faith effort to hire minorities and females in job classifications, in which minorities and/or females are underrepresented by: a) Developing realistic goals for the employment of women and minorities who are underrepresented in such job classifications. b) Developing a timetable for achieving the goals. c) Developing a written recruitment activity plan, which is a detailed strategy that outlines specific steps, that will be taken to attract minorities and women in the appropriate job classifications in which minorities and women are underrepresented. Clifton Gunderson LLP does not have a certified Affirmative Action Plan on file. Clifton Gunderson LLP has complied with Board Policy 6600 by signing Appendix C. Clifton Gunderson Employer Information Report revealed that its workforce consist of 2010 employees that include 11.9 % minority and 54.1% female.
- It is recommended that the Board approve an Agreement between the MMSD and the Wisconsin Center for Education Research (WCER), University of Wisconsin--Madison, establishing a research partnership to study teaching, counseling practices, and academic outcomes in high schools to better understand the role of classroom experiences in the preparation for students’ future studies and careers in engineering, as identified in Appendix 1.

Pursuant to Wisconsin Statute § 19.89 and under MMSD School Board Policy, no member of the School Board is excluded from attending any meeting of a School Board committee or subunit. Accordingly, up to and including all School Board members may be in attendance at any of the meetings noticed herein. However, the School Board takes no action as a Board at any meeting of a committee or subunit.
