The Budget Seminar was called to order by Carol Carstensen at 7:03 p.m.

There were no public appearances.

There were no announcements.
4. Teaching and Learning and Human Resources Departments as they relate to the Budget
Next agenda.
5. Other Business
Business Services: Carol reviewed last week's information about Administrative Services and then proceeded to present the information on the other divisions of Business Services. There were a number of questions (listed below). There was a concern about whether we had enough budget people. There was a fairly extended discussion about whether any money could be saved by outsourcing some of the cleaning responsibilities of custodial staff.
Questions:
1. How many children ride the yellow buses at each level?
2. The $43,100 Bank Service Charge – what services are involved?
3. Telephones – are there still some schools without a phone in each classroom? If so, what is the plan and timeline for providing phone service?
Budget Forecast: Carol presented the budget forecast for the 2004-05 year – explaining the items and pointing out that the budget at the revenue limit would be an increase of 1.43% over this year's budget – but requires finding $9.3 million of cuts and/or reductions in a same-service budget.
