The Budget Seminar was called to order by Carol Carstensen at 7:07 p.m.

4. Teaching and Learning Department as it relates to the Budget

The Teaching and Learning Department budget was presented in transparencies and discussed. There was considerable discussion about the Gateways to Literacy process and the math resource teachers.

5. Proposed 2004-05 Budget Cuts and their Implications, Legality, and Feasibility

Carol reminded everyone that the group would not be meeting the following week, but would have its last meeting on February 19. She polled the participants to see if they wanted to meet after the Board has been given the proposed budget and list of cuts. A majority indicated interest. Carol also requested that any additional proposals for cuts should be sent to her. The meeting on February 19 will include a more extensive discussion on the list of possible cuts that the group put together in November.
