Long Range Planning Committee meeting was called to order by Chair Carol Carstensen at 6:30 p.m.

OTHER BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: None

STAFF PRESENT:                            Sue Abplanalp, Mary Gulbrandsen, Sandra Gunderson, Karen Kepler, Kurt Kiefer, Kristi Kloos, Tim Potter, Linda Sweeney, Sherrill Wagner

1. LongRangeFacility Use Planning Process

(Written materials provided at the meeting:  Enrollment Projections and Maximum Physical Plant Capacity by Attendance Area:  2007 Elementary;  Elementary School Building Capacities and Enrollment Projections - attached to the original copy of these minutes.)

Mary Gulbrandsen made a PowerPoint presentation and provided information about the District's Long Range Facility Use Planning Process, including the intent of the five year plan and the criteria and considerations used for planning.

2.        Ideas to Address Student Overcrowding at LakeViewElementary School

           (Written materials provided at the meeting:  Ideas 1 through 6 - Attached to the original copy of these minutes.)

          

           Six Ideas were presented that would address overcrowding at Lake View School.  Each was explained and discussed.

3.        Next Steps in the Process to Alleviate Student Overcrowding at LakeViewElementary School

          

           The administration and the members of the Long Range Planning Committee will take recommendations and comments from the public over the next few weeks.  The Administration and Long Range Planning Committee will develop recommendations after receiving input from parents.  These recommendations will be shared via newsletters, public meetings, the district's website and other forums.   By April, boundary changes will be recommended to the Board of Education for adoption.

The meeting was adjourned by unanimous consent at 8 p.m.
