Long Range Planning Committee meeting was called to order by Chair Carol Carstensen at 6:30 p.m.

1. LongRangeFacility Use Planning Process

Mary Gulbrandsen reviewed the process and steps that led to this meeting.  The purpose of this meeting was to gather and share ideas to address student overcrowding at Lake View Elementary School.

2.        Ideas to Address Student Overcrowding at LakeViewElementary School

           (Written materials provided in advance:  Idea 7--Move Brentwood to Emerson and Consolidate Marquette-Lapham; Idea 8‑-Lindbergh to Mendota and Gompers, Brentwood and Maple Bluff to Emerson, Area south of Packers to Emerson, Packers Townhouses to Marquette, Whitetail Ridge to Lake View; and Idea 9--Lindbergh to Mendota and Gompers, Brentwood and Maple Bluff to Emerson, Area south of Packers to Emerson, Packers Townhouses to Lowell, Whitetail Ridge to Lake View.  Written materials prepared from information provided at the meeting - Feedback - Dealing with Overcrowding at Lake View Elementary School for 2007-2008, January 31, 2007, Warner Park Community Center - all attached to the original of these minutes.)

           Members of the audience asked questions and provided feedback about the ideas presented and other ideas for dealing with student overcrowding at Lake View Elementary School.   Comment sheets were distributed and collected from the audience.  The summary is attached to the original of these minutes.

3.        Next Steps in the Process to Alleviate Student Overcrowding at LakeViewElementary School

           A meeting is scheduled on February 6 at Sherman Middle School to gather and share ideas for the use of elementary school facilities in the East Attendance Area.

4.        Adjournment

The meeting was adjourned by unanimous consent at approximately 80 p.m.
