Long Range Planning Committee meeting was called to order by Chair Carol Carstensen at 6:35 p.m.

MEMBERS PRESENT:                       Carol Carstensen, Lawrie Kobza, Arlene Silveira

MEMBERS ABSENT:                         None

OTHER BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: None

STUDENT REPRESENTATIVES PRESENT:   None

STAFF PRESENT:                            Sue Abplanalp, Mary Gulbrandsen

1. LongRangeFacility Use Planning Process

Mary Gulbrandsen reviewed the steps in the long range facility use planning process.  The purpose of this meeting is to gather and share ideas about the use of elementary school facilities in the East Attendance Area (a copy of the PowerPoint presentation is attached to the original copy of these minutes).

2.        Ideas to Address the Use of Elementary School Facilities in the East Attendance Area.

           (Written materials provided at the meeting:  Elementary School Building Capacities and Enrollment Projections, East Area Middle School Enrollment Projections - attached to the copy of these minutes.)

           Members of the audience asked questions and provided feedback about the ideas presented and other ideas about the use of elementary school facilities in the East Attendance Areas.   Comment sheets were distributed and collected from the audience (a summary is attached to the original of these minutes).

3.        Next Steps in the Process for Addressing Elementary Facility Use in the East Attendance Area

           Next steps are to consider the comments received at this meeting, narrow the ideas, develop advantages and disadvantages for the remaining ideas for a presentation to the Board of Education on February 12, 2007, and to hold additional forums in the East Attendance Area.

              The meeting was adjourned by unanimous consent at 8:35 p.m.
