2) New Elementary School-Linden Park
Need a name for the school. We can give a recommendation to the board.
A lot of arguments to represent General Vang Pao for Hmong culture @ public hearing Monday.
3) School Consolidation
Combining schools-two to one
Five options-to deal with undercrowding/overcrowding
Formula-certain amount of money-closing schools, combining schools
Factors
· Reduce transportation
· Keep traditional neighborhoods
· Work with diversity
· Work with equity of low income families
Need to make decision soon-put teachers on surplus list, tell neighborhoods, etc.
4) Referendum
Possible yearly referendum-three years. This year-next year and the year after that-bring referendum. Restore strings, restore TAG, restore SAGE-not voluntary
Taxpayers that vote for referendum are different than those who suggest/support it
5) Recommendations-Names for LindenParkElementary School(no priority)
