- Support increasing SAGE aid to $2,500 per low-income student (estimated increase to MMSD, $1.3M FY 07)
- Support increasing school breakfast reimbursement (MMSD, $25,000 FY 06)
- Support $2.4M increase in Bilingual-Bicultural aid to maintain 12% reimbursement to districts
- Support "high cost" special education initiative, which would reimburse districts for 90% of a student's cost if they exceed $30,000 (during 2003-04 school year, MMSD had 107 students whose costs exceeded $30,000 - estimated impact $1.4M, FY 07)
- Support increase of $12M in FY 07 for special education categorical aids
