Robert Nadler has been selected as Director of Human Resources for the Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) while Sheila Briggs will become principal of Schenk Elementary School for the 2001-02 school year. Briggs' appointment is pending the approval of the Board of Education on May 7.
Nadler has been the Interim Director of Human Resources since the retirement of Tim Jeffery last June. Since 1993 he has been the Benefits Manager, responsible for all District benefits, including contract negotiations, employee communications and administration of all benefit plans. Nadler has a master's degree in business administration from UW-Whitewater, and a total of 24 years work and administrative experience in human resources.
Sheila Briggs will replace Bea Bonet-Lueck, who is becoming an assistant principal at East High School. Briggs is in the MMSD Grow Our Own Principals program, which allows Madison teachers to spend a full year in an extensive training program in preparation for being a principal. She has been an elementary school teacher in Madison for the past six years, most recently at Glendale. Briggs has a master's degree in Leadership from Cardinal Stritch College.
