Kim Ott has been named principal at Elvehjem Elementary School, and Lynn Berton will be the new principal at Shorewood Elementary, both pending the approval of the Board of Education at its next regular meeting.
Ott has been employed by the Oshkosh Area School District since 1996 and is also currently working on her Ph.D. in educational administration from UW-Madison. In Oshkosh, Ott has been coordinator for the gifted and talented program, has taught first grade, and has been a leader of a variety of curriculum committees. She has a master's degree in elementary reading education from UW-Oshkosh.
At Elvehjem, Ott succeeds Jane Belmore who was recently named Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Schools.
Berton has been part of the Beaver Dam United School District since 1988. She had been principal of Jefferson Elementary School there for seven years, and Trenton School for five years before that. Berton has also had responsibility for district-wide reading programs. She has a master's degree in education from UW-Whitewater.
