Principals for Shabazz HS and Allis ES Named

Two Assistant Principals Move to Top Job

Sally Schultz, assistant principal at East High School, is the new principal at Shabazz City High School and Christine Hodge, assistant principal at La Follette High School, is the new principal at Allis Elementary, after approval this week by the Board of Education.

Prior to coming to Madison, Schultz worked for three years at Blackhawk Technical College as a basic education teacher and an associate chairwoman for academics and careers. Schultz has been with the Madison school district for ten years as a physical education teacher, East's athletic director, and an assistant principal at East for the last three years.

Schultz has a bachelor's degree in physical education/health from UW-Platteville, a master's degree in adaptive physical education from Bowling Green State University - Ohio, and is currently working on her Ph.D in educational administration from UW-Madison.

Hodge, a veteran educator who has been with the Madison school district for 29 years, has served in a wide range of jobs including elementary school teacher, home-school coordinator/counselor, parent-student advocate, minority services counselor and, most recently, three years as assistant principal at La Follette.

She has a bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Arkansas – Pine Bluff, a master's degree in counseling and psychology from UW-Madison and is in the process of receiving her principal's license from Edgewood College.
