Michael Hertting has been named principal for Orchard Ridge Elementary and Elizabeth Fritz has been tabbed as principal for Crestwood Elementary, Superintendent Art Rainwater announced today. Both new principals need approval from the Board of Education at its July 31 meeting.
Hertting has been a principal for eight years, serving as an elementary principal for the Wausau school district from 1990-1992 and also as an assistant middle school principal in Wausau from 1993-1996. He was a middle school principal in Minnesota from 1996-1998. Hertting has a bachelor's degree in elementary education, a master's degree in educational administration and in May received his Ph.D in educational administration, all from UW-Madison.
Fritz has been a K-8 principal for the Horicon school district from 1993 to the end of this school year. She was also an elementary school principal and K-12 district gifted and talented coordinator for the Rio school district during the 1992-93 school year and was the learning disabilities and building team leader for the Wisconsin Dells school district from 1990-1992. Fritz received a bachelor's degree in elementary education from UW-Eau Claire and a master's degree in special education from UW-Madison. She also has an administration and education specialist degree from UW-Milwaukee.
