28 Names Suggested for New School in the Cross Country Area

Public Hearing set for Monday, October 23

A total of 28 names for the new school in the Cross Country area has been submitted for consideration by the Board of Education.

A public hearing on the proposed names will be held on Monday, October 23 at 5 p.m. at the Doyle Administration Building, 545 West Dayton Street. The public is invited to attend the hearing and make statements to the Board members regarding the suggested names.

Here's the list of proposed names submitted by citizens:

After Monday's public hearing, the Board's Finance and Operations Committee will meet on November 6 in order to make a recommendation to the full Board. The full Board is scheduled to make a final decision on the school's name on November 13.

The new school is currently under construction at 3502 Maple Grove Drive and is scheduled to open in August, 2001.
