Madison Student Gets Perfect SAT Score

Seth Meyer, a senior-to-be at Madison East High School, has been notified that he recorded a perfect 1600 score in the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) which he took in May.

Meyer recorded an 800 in the verbal section, and an 800 in the math portion of the test which measures student verbal and mathematical abilities in preparation for college study. The College Board, which administers the SAT, says that only 1 out of every 5,000 students who take the test record perfect scores.

Seth carries a 3.9 grade point average at East and is very active in extra-curriculars: math team, French club, debate, Beta club (volunteer activities,) varsity soccer team, rugby club team, and he volunteers as a youth soccer coach. Seth plans to go to college to study math or computer science.

Seth said that he had done well in a prep class for the test and he had studied specific vocabulary and analogies prior to taking the test. Still, he didn't expect the perfect score.

Meyer is the son of Daniel and Debby Meyer of Madison. Previously he attended O'Keeffe Middle School and Lapham and Marquette Elementary Schools.
