Summer Enrollment Significantly Expanded

The Madison Metropolitan School District has significantly expanded sites and hours for enrolling students during the summer months. The result is that elementary, middle and high school students new to Madison or any students who have moved within the District can be enrolled throughout the summer.

For the first time, students can be registered in the summer at the District's Doyle administration building, 545 West Dayton Street. Enrollment hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

In addition, for three weeks from July 22 through August 9, students can be registered during specified hours, including evenings, at five enrollment centers:

See the schedule below for enrollment centers' times and dates.

"It will now be much more convenient for parents and guardians to enroll their children during summer vacation into Madison schools," said Superintendent Art Rainwater. "We've made these changes as part of our ongoing effort to be more customer friendly. In fact, some parent groups brought this suggestion forward, and we thank them for doing so."

As was the case in previous summers, a parent or guardian can enroll a high school student by going to the high school which the child will be attending.

For any enrollment, the following information must be provided at the time of enrollment: proof of child's age, proof of residence, child's immunization record, child's Social Security number (if available).

Interpreter services will be available at both the central site and the enrollment centers. Only students new to Madison or students going to a new school within Madison need to enroll. For more information, call 663-1879.
