November 17, 2003
The Madison Metropolitan School District and Madison Teachers Incorporated have reached an agreement on continuing the 4-block schedule at La Follette High School.
The new agreement assures the continuation of this program and meets the needs of both the La Follette teaching staff and the district.
"I am very pleased that we were able once again to reach an agreement that serves both the staff and students of La Follette and the overall district," said Superintendent Art Rainwater.
MTI Executive Director John Matthews said, "The agreement is continued evidence of the expressed intent of Art Rainwater's and my ability to work together." Matthews said his meeting with La Follette staff enabled him to ascertain information that enabled the new agreement to be crafted.
The new agreement will be made a regular part of the collective bargaining pact between the district and the union.
