Alan Harris of the Fresno, CA area has been named principal at Black Hawk Middle School, effective this summer. Harris replaces Steve Hoffman who has been the interim principal this year at the North side school (1402 Wyoming Way). Hoffman will become an assistant principal at La Follette High School.
The Harris appointment is pending the approval of the Board of Education at its June 7 meeting.
Harris is currently the principal of Pinedale Elementary School (K-6) in the Clovis Unified School District in California. He has also served as a deputy principal at the high school level, a learning director, activities director and a guidance instructional specialist at the elementary and intermediate levels.
Harris has Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Fresno State University, and is in the joint doctoral program for Educational Leadership at Cal State - Davis and Fresno State Universities.
