Gareth (Gary) Diaz Zehrbach has been selected as the interim principal for Nuestro Mundo Community School for the 2004-05 school year. Nuestro Mundo is a dual-immersion Spanish-English charter school that will open its doors for the first time at the start of the upcoming school year - September 1.
Zehrbach has been an intern principal at Sherman Middle School in the 03-04 school year while he works toward a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis at UW-Madison.
Gary has a Master's degree in Education from the University of Notre Dame, and was an assistant principal and teacher at St. Anthony's Middle School in Robstown, TX. He has also studied at EuroEstudios Language Academy in Granada, Spain.
Nuestro Mundo will be located in Allis Elementary School, 4201 Buckeye Road. It will start with kindergarten this year and will add a grade each year to grow into a K-5 school. The school will operate through the collaboration of Nuestro Mundo Inc. and the Madison School District.
