Malina Fischer has been named assistant director of Labor Relations for the school district, Superintendent Art Rainwater announced today.
Fischer has been an attorney for the Lathrop and Clark law firm since 1991, serving as a law clerk, associate attorney, and finally as a partner in 1997. Lathrop and Clark is legal counsel for the Wisconsin Association of School Boards.
Fischer received her bachelor of arts from UW-Madison in 1987. She attended John Marshall Law School in 1988 and 1989 and then transferred to the UW Law School, where she received her law degree in 1991. She begins her work with the Madison schools on June 1.
