Sandburg Elementary School kindergarten teacher Joyce Mihlbauer has been selected for inclusion in Who's Who Among America's Teachers, the district announced today.
Mihlbauer joins a select group of teachers across the country nominated for the honor by a former student who has been recognized for academic excellence by making The National Dean's List or Who's Who Among American High School Students. College and high school students who have been included in one of the two publications are invited to nominate one teacher from their entire academic experience.
Mihlbauer, who has been teaching in the district for 33 years, was nominated by Wendy Beckman, now a senior at East High School.
An entry including a biographical profile of Mihlbauer will appear in the fifth edition of the book, which is described as the "only publication dedicated exclusively to the recognition of our country's premier teachers."
