FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MAY 11, 2000
Madison Memorial senior Po-Shen Loh is one of twenty students named today to USA TODAY's All-USA High School Academic First Team.
Loh, the only team member from Wisconsin, was a silver medalist at the International Mathematical Olympiad, and was one of only six competitors from the US at the Baltic Olympiad of Informatics, a computer competition in Latvia.
Loh was one of almost 4,400 students nominated by their schools. Judging was based on academic achievement, activities, leadership, and translation of scholarship into action.
Loh and the other team members will be honored at a luncheon May 12 at the newspaper's headquarters in Arlington, VA. Each will get a trophy and a check for $2,500.
Loh is the son of Wei-Yin and Theresa Loh, and will attend Caltech next year.
