Letter to Parents and Staff

Dear Chávez Families and Staff,

We are currently in the process of remediation and preparing for reconstruction at Chávez. The major focus of the process will be addressing all of the causal factors and ensuring that the entire building is ready for occupancy.

During this process, it is anticipated that some areas of mold may still be found and eliminated. The purpose of remediation is to eliminate all such possible areas that may still remain. Such is the case with a small area of mold that was found late yesterday in a closet in one of the classrooms. We are writing to you because there may be news coverage of this recent occurrence. We want to let you know that the process for remediation and reconstruction will take occurrences such as this into account and continue to move forward. This or other mold that may be found will not delay this process. We are planning for school to be ready in the Fall.
