Letter to Parents and Staff

Dear Chávez Families and Staff,

I would like to give you a brief update on the status of Chávez rebuilding and the Transition Team.

The Monday May 6 Board of Education agenda contains a recommendation that the Board approve a contractor to do the reconstruction work at Chávez. Assuming the Board approves this recommendation, and I have no reason to think it will not, then the reconstruction can begin next week in accordance with the schedule that has previously been shared with you.

Both Sue Mowris and Howard Fried have now collected the names of people interested in participating on the Transition Team. We will schedule an organizational meeting of the team on May 14, 2002 at 4:30. One task for the Transition Team will be to set up a way of communicating with staff and parents during the transition.
