RE: Chávez
The question has been asked as to why we continue to find additional mold.
The initial investigation as to mold at Chávez involved investigating areas where there was a known source of moisture/water that was introduced during construction and/or air quality concerns raised by staff. This resulted in the initial remediation that was completed on the first and second floors.
We also discovered mold growth in areas that could not be explained as a result of known moisture/water conditions. We secured Michael's Engineering to investigate completely the potential causation of mold in the building. Michael's conducted numerous interviews and visual inspections. Although we do not have the final report from Michael's, information they have passed on to us as to other sources of moisture/water caused us to do additional visual inspections. We are continuing this. As a result, we have found mold in more areas behind the baseboards and in additional areas above the ceiling in the second floor.
We are continuing to follow up on information garnered from Michael's Engineering. As areas of additional mold are discovered, we are proceeding with remediation under the direction of Sharon Bessa, our indoor air quality consultant.
