Job Progress Meeting/Site Visit Thursday 5/23, 8:00 - 10:00 AM
Job Progress Meeting/Site Visit Thursday 5/30, 1:00 - 2:30 PM
Thursday (5/23) morning I inspected the site and attended the initial
Job Progress Meeting. I took a number of digital photos of the work
progress.
- Plans and specifications are being adhered to with the exception of the
use of the following materials:
- All drywall installed by Bachmann has been and will be Moisture
Resistant gypsum board rather than Abuse Resistant (Fiber Rock) as
specified. This material is being substituted due to its moisture
resistance properties and to clearly delineate the work of Bachmann vs.
that of previous contractors.
- Durarock (cement board) is being installed in areas where only the
bottom 2" of drywall was previously removed. This product is being
installed due to its ability to maintain form when cut into narrow strips
and secured to metal studs. Additionally, this material will not have a
tendency to wick water from a spill on the floor.
- Moisture Resistant gypsum board is being installed at areas to receive
ceramic tile. I understand that the tile installer (Sergennians) has
approved this as a tile base.
- Flexible copper piping is being replaced with hard copper piping at
radiant ceiling panels.
- Building environmental conditions are being maintained via the
buildings permanent system, which has been protected from construction
dust.
- Back boxes and conduits for electrical devices are being re-installed
securely to metal studs.
- It was noted that data and fire alarm systems will have to be
re-tested.
- Long lead items such as AHU cooling coil and locker repair parts have
been ordered
- Paint to be applied to walls will not have mold resistant additives due
to high VOC content.
Thursday (5/30) afternoon I inspected the site and attended the Job
Progress Meeting.
- Drywall installation has been completed on the first floor. This
drywall has been installed in a quality manner and has been finished
properly to receive paint.
- All walls requiring acoustical insulation on the first floor have
received such.
- Moisture tests have been conducted on concrete floors at grade and it
has been determined that VCT installation (patching) may proceed.
- Electrical devices have been properly installed in ceiling tiles at the
first floor.
- An installer that is certified by the skylight manufacturer will repair
the skylights located in rooms 208 and 222.
- Cabinets previously removed and stored in containers on site are being
evaluated for damage due to moisture and general moving abuse.
- The project schedule issued on May 14 is presently being adhered
to.
- It was determined that the plumbing contractor will replace P-traps at
sinks to be re-installed rather than salvaging existing.
