Complete Remediation
- Investigate and resolve all conditions in all parts of the building that are consistent with circumstances that may have contributed to mold growth in another part of the building.
- Investigate and resolve all conditions identified in the causation report.
Update:
- All areas of mold contamination have been remediated. In addition, the following precautionary measures have been taken:
- Walls were rebuilt using green board.
- Bottom of 2" of all sheet rock walls were removed and replaced with cement board.
- Metal flashing has been installed under lockers to prevent spills in the lockers from getting the walls wet.
- Humidity sensors have been installed and will be monitored remotely by the building automation system.
- Mechanical room floor will be sealed (scheduled for week of 7/22/02).
- All carpet remnants were removed.
- All carpet has been HEPA vacuumed multiple times. Custodians have been provided HEPA vacuums for permanent use.
- Air handling system has been cleaned.
- Air handlers are running 24/7, and will continue until Mid-September.
- Installed floor tile under casework.
- All items on Causation Report have been addressed.
Resolve Masonry Issues
- Fully inspect and evaluate conditions that may exist that could contribute to the building's ability to remain dry.
Update:
- SRI's report "Roof and Wall Reconstruction Guide" provided details for through-wall flashing repair, and for preventative maintenance repairs on the roof. That work is on going and scheduled to be complete August 2, 2002.
Reconstruction Schedule
- Begin first week of May.
- Project can be completed in as short a timeline as 8 weeks.
- Length of timeline may be impacted by masonry work; stretching timeline to 13 weeks (without working overtime).
- Completion goal - first week of August.
Update:
- On schedule to meet August 2, 2002 completion date.
- Interior reconstruction is complete.
- Work on the original punch list is on-going and scheduled to be complete August 2, 2002.
- Custodial staff is final cleaning and moving furniture back into classrooms.
- Furniture vendor is repairing furniture broken in the move.
- Air handlers are running 24/7.
- Air handling systems are being re-balanced.
