Chávez Elementary School Reconstruction Status

Subject: Chávez Elementary School Reconstruction - Progress Report Through 7/30/02

Roger,

Bachmann Construction Company, Inc. (BCCI) has completed all the reconstruction in the classroom areas.

Air balancing work is in-progress. Preliminary adjustments have been made. Final adjustments are to be made following receipt of new filters for the Air Handling equipment.

Filter gauges have been installed on the air handling equipment.

Custodial crews have completed cleaning classrooms on the first floor and are working on the second floor classrooms.

Custodial crews have moved into the school all furniture and equipment from the storage containers located in the parking lot. Storage containers are being removed from site. Removal of the storage containers is scheduled to be complete by 8/2.

The mechanical room floors are being sealed. Room 206 located over the LMC has been completed. Work continues in room 256 over the strings area. Work is scheduled to be complete on 8/1.

Exterior masonry work is in-progress. Crews are reconstructing the wall over the kindergarten area. Masonry work is scheduled to be complete by 7/31 with final cleaning following a week of cure time. Reconstruction of walls at Stair Tower "A"; North, East and South gymnasium walls have been completed.

The roof edge modifications are in-progress. The new metal roof edge has been installed and crews are working on installation of the finished roof membrane in these areas. Work is scheduled to be complete on 8/1.

Installation of the Closed Circuit TV system (CCTV) is in-progress.

Grounding of the flag pole for lightning protection is scheduled to begin 7/31.

Electricians are in the process of re-certifying the fire alarm systems. Final review and approval by the Madison Fire Department is scheduled for 7/31.

10' x 12' carpet pieces are being fabricated. Partial delivery is scheduled for 8/2 with the remainder scheduled for mid-August.

Work continues to be on schedule.
