Former Madison School District principal and teacher Ann Yehle has been named as Executive Director of Educational Services, and Erik Kass has been selected as Assistant Superintendent for Business Services.
Both appointments are pending the approval of the Board of Education at its May 5 meeting, and both would begin on July 1.
Ann Yehle has been an administrator in the WI Department of Public Instruction's Division of Reading and Student Achievement for the past year and a half. Prior to that, Ann was the principal at Madison's Sherman Middle School for six years. She began her work in this district as a Special Education teacher, then moved to the central office as a Program Support Teacher and later served as the Special Education Coordinator for middle schools.
As the director of the Department of Educational Services, Ann will lead the Special Education division and the English-as-a-Second-Language and Bilingual Education division. Yehle will replace Jack Jorgensen, who is retiring.
Erik Kass will lead the Department of Business Services, which includes budget, planning, accounting, building operations, engineering and maintenance, food services, purchasing, transportation, and other business services.
He comes to Madison Schools from a similar position at the School District of Waukesha (WI), where he has been both the Executive Director of Business Services and the Comptroller. Erik will replace Howard Sampson, who has been in the post on an interim basis since August of last year.
