Ways you can Contribute to the good things
that happen at East
The Foundation for Madison
Schools
The Foundation for Madison's Public Schools is an independent,
community non-profit organization dedicated to sustaining and
extending the excellence of Madison's public schools by providing
funding to support creative initiatives which cannot be funded
through the core school budget. The Foundation:
• raises funds that will benefit children in Madison's
Public Schools long into the future;
• makes grants to creative and innovative projects that
are outside the core school budget;
• develops partnerships between the schools and community
groups throughout Madison.

The Theatre Renovation
Project
East has launched an effort to improve the school's auditorium,
where students in orchestra, band, chorus and theater perform.
Its time for the orange bowling alley chairs to go, and there
are safety issues with the accoustical shells and the fly system.
The renovation
plan includes much needed updates to the stage floor, sound
and lighting system and a complete renovation of the embarassing
guest dressing rooms.
This is a financially ambitious project. At the very least
the safety issues must be addressed. We are seeking donations
to help fund the project. So far, the school has replaced five
sections of the acoustic shell, which projects sound out to
the audience.
With your generous contributions this project will succeed.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Donations to the East High Theater Renovation can be sent to
the school at
2222 E. Washington Ave., Madison WI 53704-5295.
The Booster Club
The Purgolder Booster Club is an organization composed of parents,
staff, alumni and friends that supports all sports at Madison
East High School by raising money to purchase supplies, equipment,
uniforms, and/or capital items beyond what the school athletic
budget provides. Each of the 22 sports at Madison East, plus
the Spirit Squad, has an adult representative on the Purgolder
Booster Club Board of Directors, which meets monthly.
Money is raised through memberships, fundraising activities
and advertisements in the "Purgolder Sports" booklet.
Throughout the year, the Booster Club sponsors a golf outing,
concessions at various athletic events, spirit wear sales, and
sales of specialty products. During the 2003-2004 school year,
the Booster Club provided over $36,000 to East High School athletics.
You are invited to volunteer your time and energy to support
these fundraising activities.

The Guidance Scholarship Fund
The East High School has a proud tradition of helping its graduates
financially with their higher education. We have a fund that
grows each year with your generous donations.
The Guidance Office also collects old cell phones and ink cartridges
to be recycled and the proceeds from this collection are added
to the scholarship fund. Your old cell phones and ink cartridges
can be delivered to the Guidance Department at East to be recycled
and to help benefit the future education of our students.
