Subject: CRIMINAL RECORDS CHECK

  1. Prior to or as a condition of appointment, the Department of Human Resources will conduct a crime information records check for all regular, full-time, part-time, and limited term employees.

  2. If the crime record check confirms a conviction or pending charge, a determination shall be made, in consultation with legal counsel, whether or not to reject the application and/or terminate the employee based upon a consideration of the circumstances of the conviction/pending charge and whether the circumstances substantially relate to the nature of the particular position for which the candidate has applied/been appointed.
