| Source(s): | Per BOE Meetings-February 21, 2000, January 8, 2007 |
Administrator contracts will be issued by the Department of Human Resources in accordance with the following policy:
1. Newly hired administrators shall be issued a one-year contract for each of their first three full years of service. Years of service shall be defined as full contract years (225, 218, 214, 207, 202, 197 days) under the current definition of "full year." Thereafter, such administrators shall be issued either one-year contracts or two-year contracts, depending upon their performance as set forth below and provided his/her position is not being considered for elimination due to reorganization, reassignment, reduction in force or other personnel action.
2. An administrator who has been issued a two-year contract and whose performance is satisfactory shall be issued a one-year extension by July 1 of each year, thereby creating a two-year rolling contract, except an administrator may not receive a two-year contract if the District is considering reorganization, reassignment, reduction in force or other personnel action that may result in the elimination of the administrator's position or in the conversion of the position to an at will position. Satisfactory performance shall be defined as having received all "Proficient" or above ratings on the administrator's most recent performance appraisal.
3. An administrator issued a one-year contract whose performance is not satisfactory shall be issued a one-year contract for the following year, and a one-year contract for each year thereafter, provided his/her performance remains unsatisfactory and provided no non-renewal and/or discharge proceedings have been initiated and provided his/her position is not being considered for elimination due to reorganization, reassignment, reduction in force or other personnel action.
4. An administrator issued a two-year contract whose performance is not satisfactory shall be issued a one-year contract the following year and a one-year contract for each year thereafter, provided his/her performance remains unsatisfactory and provided no non-renewal and/or discharge proceedings have been initiated, and provided his/her position is not being considered for elimination due to reorganization, reassignment, reduction in force or other personnel action.
5. All administrator contracts are subject to approval by the Board of Education.
6. Nothing in this policy shall be construed to limit the District's ability to terminate an administrator's contract for cause.
