The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction requires certified staff members to earn six (6) college/university credits, or the equivalent, every five (5) years in order to maintain their teaching license. Those holding life licenses are exempt from this requirement.

One method of meeting the Wisconsin license renewal requirement is to participate in the District's staff development programs, which have been pre-approved by the Department of Public Instruction. Thirty (30) clock hours of participation in pre-approved programs will equal one (1) college/university credit toward license renewal.
