ADMINISTRATOR'S SICK LEAVE UPON PROMOTION OR DEMOTION
In the event an employee is promoted to an administrative position, there shall
be no adjustment made to the number of days of sick leave accumulated prior
to the effective date of the promotion. Following the date of the promotion,
the affected employee shall carry forward the same number of sick leave days
accumulated in the employee's previous position.
- If a teacher is promoted to an Administrative position, that teacher's
Personal Sick Leave Account and Retirement Insurance Account will be added
together. That total will be the number of days transferred to the employee's
Administrative Sick Leave Account.
- If a non-teacher is promoted to an Administrative position, that employee's
entire sick leave account will be transferred to his/her Administrative Sick
Leave Account.
In the event an Administrative employee is demoted/reassigned to a non-administrative
position in the Custodial, Educational Assistant, Security Assistant, Substitute
Teacher or Trades unit, there shall be no adjustment made to the number of days
of sick leave accumulated prior to the effective date of the demotion. Following
the date of the demotion, the affected employee shall carry forward the same
number of sick leave days accumulated in the employee's previous position.
- In the event an Administrative employee is demoted/reassigned into the
Food Services Unit: The transferring Administrator's Sick Leave Balance will
be converted to hours. If the transferring Administrator has less than 720
hours in the Sick Leave Account, the entire account will be transferred to
the new Sick Leave Account. If the transferring Administrator has more than
720 hours in the Sick Leave Account, all hours will be transferred to the
new Sick Leave Account and, should more than 720 hours remain in the new account
as of the last payroll before December 25, the remainder will be paid off.
- In the event an Administrative employee is demoted/reassigned into the
Teacher Unit: If the transferring Administrator's Sick Leave Balance is 70
days of less, the entire account will be transferred into the Teacher's Sick
Leave Account. If the transferring Administrator's Sick Leave Balance is more
than 70 days, 70 days will be transferred to the Teacher's Sick Leave Account
and the remainder will be transferred to the Teacher's Retirement Insurance
Account.
