FAMILY ILLNESS LEAVE
Administrators, Professionals and Non-Represented Clerical Employees
Family Illness Leave is charged against Personnel Illness Leave for severe illness in the immediate family requiring the presence of the employee. Interpretation of immediate family for this purpose shall be limited to the following relatives of he employee:
- Husband, Wife or Registered Designated Family Partner
- Child (includes foster and step children)
- Father or Mother of employee or spouse (including step-parents)
- Brother or Sister of employee or spouse
- Son-in-law or Daughter in law*
- Grandfather or Grandmother*
- Grandchild*
*Limited to five (5) days unless residing in same household.
Custodians, Educational Assistants, Food Service, Security Assistants, Clerical/Technical, Substitute Teachers and Teachers
Family Illness Leave is administered pursuant to these group's collective bargaining agreement. Please consult the appropriate agreement for details on leave restrictions.
