two (2) years
- Grade transcripts showing courses completed and degrees received
Application
To be considered timely, completed applications and Experience
Inventory(s) must be received by the Department of Human Resources
or postmarked on or before the stated deadline for receiving applications.
When completing the "Professional Experience" section, DO NOT
write "SEE RESUME." The "Professional Experience" section MUST
BE COMPLETED in its entirety.
Credential Rating
Depending upon the number of applicants, a rating committee may
be appointed to evaluate the applicants' responses to the Experience
Inventory. The top rated applicants will then be invited for an
interview.
Interviewing Committee
Candidates will be interviewed by a Committee composed of District
staff, parents, community leaders, job content experts, etc. The
Committee will interview and rate the candidates and the top-rated
candidates will be referred for a separate interview with the appointing
authority(s). Candidates are not permitted to submit to an Interview
Committee any new materials not already included with their application.
Special Screening Procedures
For selected administrative positions, top candidates may be given
structured interviews (e.g., the Principal Perceiver) and/or a Managerial
Leadership Appraisal.
Offers of Employment
The initial offer of employment for the successful candidate is
made contingent upon:
- Confirmation by the Board of Education
- TB Screening
- Satisfactory crime records check
- Verification of required licensure (if required for position)
Upon satisfaction of these conditions, the candidate of choice
will be sent a formal employment contract which will set forth the
details associated with his/her appointment.
For the first three years of service, new administrators are issued
one-year contracts. Thereafter, two-year rolling contracts are available
if performance meets standards.
