Educational Assistant / Special
Education Assistant
Application Process
Thank you for your interest in seeking employment as an Educational
Assistant/Special Education Assistant with the Madison Metropolitan
School District. The District accepts applications for these positions
at any time. When we receive your application we will check references,
and if, based on your references, you qualify for employment with
our District, you will be placed into the hiring pool. Once in the
pool, your name will be referred out to individual schools as openings
occur that require experience and training similar to your background.
You will interview with the principal at each school to which you
are referred. The principal will inform you that you are recommended
for hire or that you are no longer under consideration. Timelines
vary, depending on the volume of applications received and the number
of vacancies.
If you are hired, Human Resources will be notified and will send
you a New Hire Packet with forms that must be completed before you
start working. These forms include:
State (W-4) and Federal (W-T4) tax forms
Verification of Employment Eligibility
Candidate Disclosure Statement (so the District can conduct a criminal
records check)
Department of Public Instruction License Application
We will also authorize you to have a pre-employment physical performed
at Concentra Medical Centers. When we receive all the required forms
and the results of your physical, you will be able to begin working.
Your application is kept on file for one year. If you have not
been hired and desire to remain in the applicant pool after one
year, please contact us and we will continue to keep your application
with us active.
