Key Responsibilities
Director
of Labor Relations - Duane McCrary
- Serves as chief District spokesperson dealing with all District
bargaining units;
- Acts as the District's chief decision maker in resolving employment
and labor issues;
- Administers all aspects of labor contract management;
- Represents the district in mediation and interest arbitration,
including data collection, exhibit preparation, presentation
of witnesses and drafting briefs;
- Represents the District at grievance arbitration hearings,
including presentation at hearings and drafting briefs;
- Represents the District at hearings before the Wisconsin Employment
Relations Commission (WERC);
- Counsels and advises District administrative staff on day-to-day
contract interpretation and employee problems;
- Prepares all documents and represents the District at hearings
for employee terminations, discipline proceedings and non-renewals;
- Serves as a member of the District's Executive Team.
Assistant
Director of Labor Relations - Malina Piontek
- Serves on the District's ADA Committee and advises District
staff on ADA employment related issues;
- Services as District Negotiator or bargaining team member
for contract negotiations;
- Handles all aspects of labor contract administration;
- Represents the District in mediation and interest arbitration,
including data collection, exhibit preparation, presentation
of witnesses and drafting briefs;
- Represents the District at grievance arbitration hearings,
including presentation at hearings and drafting briefs;
- Represents the district at hearings before the WERC;
- Counsels and advises District administrative staff on day-to-day
contract interpretation and employee problems;
- Prepares all documents and represents the District at hearings

Secretary
Senior - Nancy Deranick
- Provides clerical support to both the Director of Labor Relations
and the Assistant Director of Labor Relations;
- Maintains both the Director of Labor Relations' and the Assistant
Director of Labor Relations' calendars, makes appointments,
provides information directly to callers regarding pending grievances,
hearings, complaints; serves as conduit between Labor contract
Manager/Assistant and callers; drafts correspondence; handles
customary secretarial tasks;
- Updates labor agreements, oversees printing/distribution of
revised collective bargaining agreements;
- Logs all grievances, organizes/maintains grievance files,
sets hearing dates, closes out files when resolved; and maintains
computer data base on all grievances;
- Maintains computer database of all Memoranda of Understanding.
