ALL REQUESTS FOR TRANSFERS ARE DUE BY 4:00 PM.

Only teachers presently employed with the Madison Metropolitan School District under REGULAR contract are eligible for consideration for the vacancies listed below. Contact the principal/supervisor for all qualifications used in the selection process. In compliance with Section IV-G of the negotiated agreement between Madison Teachers, Inc. and the Board of Education, a teacher wishing to request a transfer to one of the positions must complete the appropriate Teacher Transfer Request form and direct it to the person indicated on the notice below. Submitting your transfer request to Human Resources unless designated on the posting or anyone other than the stated individual DOES NOT constitute timely notification of a request to transfer and will cause denial of the transfer.

Due date: Transfer forms must be received by the person listed below by 4 p.m. on the due date. During the summer, contact the designated person directly (by phone or e-mail) to determine the best method for submitting the Transfer Request form. Do not use U.S. Mail, as schools are not open during the summer and do not receive mail on a timely basis. Concurrently, a statement must be filed with the Director of Human Resources requesting such transfer. This can be done by making a photocopy of the Teacher Action section of the transfer form and forwarding it to Human Resources. (Teacher Transfer Requests may be secured from the Human Resources Department, from the school offices or at the District's website.)

The hiring authority will consider job references from MMSD officials and external references when making the hiring decision. Transfer applicants must hold the required certification at the time of the posting. All positions require experience working cross-culturally and/or commitment to work toward improving one's own cultural competence i.e., valuing difference/diversity, recognizing personal limitations in one's skills and expertise, and having the desire to learn in these areas.
