In 1856 the first plant of Ashland was registered. 16
years later in 1872 the first sawmill was built by W.R. Sutherland. Then in
1894 a new post office was built in Ashland. 10 years later an Ashland high
school opened an people went there for school. In 1940 the new radio station
went on air in Ashland.
There were 3 ore docks in Ashland. Now only one ore
dock is left. When a storm is near they pull the boats and tie them up to the
