Dear Memorial Community:
I
hope that you are finally enjoying the spring season and taking advantage
of the many activities that JMM provides. This is the time of the year when
we all are very busy with school and family activities. As we look forward to the end of the
year, we do so with satisfaction as to the many things our students and
staff have accomplished. We continue
to work with students, families, and the community so that all children are
connected to school and have an opportunity to experience a positive
education. I continue to be
impressed with our students' determination and their taking responsibility
for their education. Even when the
obstacles and challenges are great, our students find a way to be
successful.
During
the next month we will continue to make plans for the Class of 2008
graduation on Saturday, June 14, 2008,
1:00 p.m. at the Kohl Center. Many senior activities will be taking
place and we encourage all seniors to participate from the Seniors Honor
Convocation to the Senior Picnic and the parent-sponsored Senior
Party. The Senior Picnic on Friday,
May 30th is a school sponsored, supervised "Skip
Day." Seniors are excused from
school to attend the picnic at Governor
Dodge State
Park.
Memorial provides lunch and students are required to take the
bus. Parents, please encourage your
student to attend this event and NOT ALLOW other non-supervised days away
from school this spring.
I
also encourage you to talk with your students regarding Prom expectations
and hope parents will strongly encourage your students attending Prom to
attend the Post-Prom party as well.
This event is again a safe, supervised activity for all to
enjoy. These activities will create
memories that will last forever.
In
addition to all the spring sports going on, please take time to attend the
Spring Play - "Arsenic and Old
Lace," the POPS Concert, National Honor Society Induction, Academic
Awards Program, or any one of the many activities going on at JMM.
This
year again has gone by quickly. It
seems like only yesterday we were welcoming in the new school year. Thanks for all your support and I look
forward seeing you throughout the months ahead.
Congratulations
to our graduating seniors!
GO SPARTANS!
