Design & Computer Drafting 1
TEC410 1 credit School-to-Work Grades 10-12

No prior knowledge of how to draw, use a computer, or other equipment is necessary. All course work is done in class. This is a general introductory course designed so that you can learn and have fun at the same time. The main focus of this course is architectural design. Each student will design a home using a computer which automatically dimensions and draws your plan in 3D. In addition, pre-made objects are available to enhance your designs. You may choose to make a model from color prints of your design on foam board and also print a full color set of plans. The final output of your projects will be done on the computer. As an option, a study of engineering structures and related principles is possible. Please see Mr. Walker about this option. Requirements: Responsible for obligations.

Architectural Design & Computer Drafting 2
TEC420 1 credit School-to-Work Grades 11-12
Prerequisite: Design & Computer Drafting 1

This architectural design drafting course is intended to allow you to further develop your abilities to design and graphically illustrate. Using commercial techniques, designing begins with the environment and includes sketching, site plans, floor plans, interior design, and computer generated 3D models (automatic). A good deal of emphasis will be on passive solar design, use of structural materials, columns and specifications, architectural and engineering office procedures, the Wis. Uniform Building Code, as well as things related to design vocations and further education at a university or technical college.
Requirement: Responsible for obligations.

Independent Study:  Design/Media
TEC440 1 credit Elective Grades 11-12
Prerequisite: Design 1 or Computer Media and Instructor's consent

This course is for highly motivated students that would like to develop their skills and increase their personal knowledge and competence in computer drafting or media with responsibilities on a more adult level. Work to be done on a contract basis between the student and the instructor. It is for students who have proven themselves to be responsible and can work independently. (Limited enrollment)

Computer Media 1
TEC460 1 credit School-to-Work Grades 10-12
