Last Tuesday (September 13) the sixers in the Open Classroom had a bake sale to raise money for the Red Cross. We
raised about $145.00. We hope the money helps Hurricane Katrina's victims.
All three O.C. classrooms pitched in and made lots of cookies, cupcakes, brownies and even caramel apples!
First the sixers had to figure out how much they would charge. Then we had to figure out who would work what two shifts (in the end
Ms. Stein just picked names out of a can). And finally we had to organize it. It all took three days!
On the day of the bake sale we were all really anxious at the time of recess. We brought everything down and it was busy busy busy!
It looked like the whole school was there!
In the end I thought it was all pretty confusing and hard to organize but I still thought it was worth it because we were helping charity.

Hello, my name is Julian and I am going to share my experience with you from our bake sale last week, Tuesday, September 13. It was lots of fun!
It was lots of fun selling the goods because when you were getting the money a rush of happiness rushed through your body because you knew this money was going to help somebody's life.
But before we get to that stage, let me tell you the work that went into it.
First we had to make the signs. Luckily we have artists in our class, so it wasn't a problem for Anna, Isa, and a couple of other people.
Next we had to get the letter ready. Two people came together - Noah and Emma did a great job with it.
When they were done, we sent it to our O/C families. They supported us a lot by sending in goods like cookies, brownies, caramel apples, and a bunch of other goods.
At the end of the bake sale we raised about $145.00. We gave it to the Red Cross and were pretty sure it went to the hurricane victims.
That's what happened at the bake sale.
