MSCR Annual Downhill Ski Fundraiser

Enjoy an evening of recreational skiing on Saturday, January 23, 4-9 pm at Tyrol Basin, Mount Horeb.  Proceeds support the purchase of adapted equipment and scholarships for people with disabilities.  The event is sponsored by Fox 47.

Tickets for youth and adults are: $20 which covers the ski rental (or snowboard rental), helmets, and lift ticket, and $12 for lift ticket only.  Tickets must be purchased in advance. No ticket sales on site.  Please send a check indicating the type and number of tickets desired to: MSCR, 3802 Regent Street. Talented and Gifted Division Community Forum

The Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) Talented and Gifted Division will host a community forum on November 17, 2009. Superintendent Dan Nerad and Executive Director of Teaching and Learning Lisa Wachtel will be in attendance.

The focus of the forum will be to provide the Madison community with an overview of the recently Board of Education approved Talented and Gifted Education Plan, followed by an opportunity for discussion. As MMSD strives to communicate openly and effectively with the community, we are looking forward to sharing the highlights of the Plan with you.

Project Search Celebrates One Year Anniversary with Open House and information session

Project Search is a training program for MMSD high school students with disabilities, who participate in hospital jobs the VA hospital site. Following Project Search, students often gain employment at area clinics and hospitals.  The program has been a successful model for transitioning students with disabilities to paid employment.
