Who's Who - January 2010

Heidi Nielsen, Thoreau El., 3rd grade teacher

Heidi Nielsen is a skilled third grade Thoreau teacher who addresses the needs of her students in a calm and professional fashion. She provides appropriate instructional differentiation as needed. She cares about her students and wants them to be successful learners. She knows that she has the skills and experience to help her students. We are fortunate to have her on the Thoreau staff.

Toni Vidulich, Sandburg El., teacher

Toni Vidulich is a teacher, leader, mentor, and model of professionalism for her students and colleagues at Sandburg.  She integrates her skills as a former Reading Recovery teacher into her classroom, where 1st and 2nd grade students receive outstanding and memorable reading instruction and other academic experiences.  Though busy pursuing a Director of Instruction license, Toni still finds time to co-lead the Curriculum & Instruction SIP team, organize events like Sandburg's Family Literacy Night, and to help colleagues with a variety of needs.  Toni is an example, in so many ways, of exactly the kind of teacher who not only helps children learn and develop necessary skills, but also creates lasting, positive memories and innumerable benefits for the students who are lucky enough to have her as a teacher.

Kerry Motoviloff, Elvehjem El., Instructional Resource Teacher

Kerry is a great wealth of knowledge in curriculum, behavior management and problem-solving with staff.  She also has great people skills to work with teams to make change in a school. She's a very special educator who is trusted by the staff in their quest for professional development.

Diane Braun, Allis/Nuestro Mundo, clerk receptionist

Diane is positive, friendly and always ready to pitch and take the extra step to help students, staff, and families.  Her knowledge of the neighborhood and families is a great help to all.  She is quick to volunteer for extra tasks and helps get our mornings off by completing the lunch counts for both buildings.  She is an invaluable resource for the office!
