Physical Education Uniform

  1. All pupils in grades 4 through 12 participating in physical education are required to wear appropriate clothing consistent with the health, safety, and instructional needs of the program.
  2. Minimum appropriate attire for boys and girls is considered to be: shorts, T-shirt, tennis shoes, socks, and for middle and high school boys, an athletic supporter.

  1. For sales in schools:
    1. Greater specificity of "appropriate attire" is determined by the BUILDING PRINCIPAL.
    2. Color or style of the gymsuit should not, under most circumstances, be criteria for "appropriateness."
    3. Schools may sell physical education apparel to students providing:
      1. The physical education program warrants the sale of these items;
      2. The price of the item is economically advantageous for the pupil;
      3. BOARD Policy concerning sale of supplies (Policy 3650, Procedure items 2, 3, and 4) is followed.
